Walk over Sponds Hill and down to Horwich End, just outside Whaley Bridge. Catch the 14:19 bus to Rainow and walk 2 miles back home across the fields. Maybe time for a swift beer/coffee in Horwich End, depending on pace. Booking essential to manage numbers but there is no charge for the booking; bus fare £2 unless you have a bus pass.
