We’re hanging up our boots for a year

The Committee of the Bollington Walking Festival have made the decision to have a break from the event this year (2020).

This decision was made before the COVID-19 pandemic – weird…

The event has run very successfully for ten consecutive years now and we feel that it is a good time to have a break from the event, come up with some fresh ideas and recruit new people to contribute and make a difference to the event in future years. We want to stress that this is purely for 2020 and we will definitely be back in 2021, hopefully as good as ever, if not better!

In the meantime, don’t forget there are a wide variety of walks run by the Bridgend Centre on Wednesdays, Saturdays and in the evenings. You can check our website and socials for updates and news on new walks and events. www.bridgendcentre.org.uk

Photo Competition Winner

The Bollington Walking Festival photo competition has now closed and we have a very worthy winner, ‘Resting at the Top’ by Emma Stephenson which was taken on Eccles Pike on the Big Thirst walk to Chinley Beer Festival.

Thank you so much to Jo Royle Outdoor Shop in Buxton who donated a £50 voucher as first prize.

Thank you also to everyone who took part, we have some cracking shots, a selection of which will be used to promote our Festival next year.
