Announcement/Mayor’s walk postponed

We were extremely saddened to hear of the passing of her Majesty the Queen yesterday.

After a great deal of careful thought we have decided to continue with the walking festival. We believe it provides wonderful opportunities for people to come together, talk and reflect, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings our lovely countryside provides.

The exception to this is the Mayor’s Boundary Walk on Sunday. This has been postponed until the new year because it is considered an Mayoral engagement which need to be halted during the official mourning period.

The team will be at the Cotton Tree tonight to raise a glass to her Majesty if you wish to join us. May she rest in peace.

Photo competition winner

The Bollington Walking Festival Photo Competition is now closed! The winner was Terry Heathcote with this stunning shot called ‘Changeable Weather’. Thank you to everyone who took part in the competition, there were some great pictures that we will be able to use for future festivals.

Change to advertised walk on Monday

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the leader will not be available to lead Paul’s Perambulation tomorrow. Chris has very kindly stepped into the breach and will be leading an eight mile walk from the Cotton Tree to Rainow and return via Ely Brow.

So slightly shorter and slightly less strenuous than advertised but still a good tramp!
